iPhone 4 'crisis' solved |
20 Jul 2010 |
Apple CEO Steve Jobs quieted the outrage over the iPhone 4 antenna issues last Friday at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. Admitting the problem was real and announcing that all iPhone 4 users would be receiving a free case seemed to have solved the 'crisis' without the significant expense of Apple's reputations if a hardware recall would have entailed.
Not everyone was pleased with this result, arguing that Apple shouldn't have sold a phone with this problem in the first place especially when it's locked to a network infamous for its flaky service. Jobs wasn't pleased either, he complained several times during the press conference that the issue was being blown out of proportion.
However, Jobs made the right decision for Apple, its employees, its shareholders, and its consumers.
