After releasing its advertising campaign to snatch users from Google, Yahoo is expanding by branching out into the publishing space, posting more content to be like a content company.
Currently, Yahoo is the largest online content producer in terms of traffic and audience. The new plan now is to double the share of original material published in cooperation with Associated Content, which manages a network of freelancers. Associated Content is well-known for using technology to predict the kinds of content consumer wants and to seed that content through natural search on engines like Yahoo, Google and Bing.
The doubling content in Yahoo will make Yahoo! Hong Kong a more frequently visited content site, which already has a huge base of users.
