Important News from f8 Conference – |
27 April 2010 |
A series of updates was announced in Facebook f8 Conference last Wednesday as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg released his latest plan Open Graph Concept which will revolutionize our experience on the Internet ever. This week, we will be covering two important changes announced in the conference.
The first big news is the elimination of Facebook Connect. Facebook Connect, introduced in 2008, is a powerful set of APIs (Application Programming Interface) that allows users to use their Facebook accounts to log onto different social media sites. It has been an immense success in the social media world, with a growing number of social media sites getting connected to Facebook for a broader base of users. To take a step further, Zuckerberg has decided to remove Facebook Connect and replace it with Open Graph protocol which will establish a much bigger network beyond Facebook to put people together in the cyberspace. The internet will no longer be a mass of unstructured links but well-connected pages to be more easily navigated by people.
