Social media networking has been used as the no.1 popular place for marketers to reach their potential customers, but efforts might backfire as users are trusting their friends less than before, a report in USA reveals today.
It is the trust users have in each other that drives the growth of any social media networking. However, a lack of understanding of the dynamic industry has led many marketers to use social media like old media. Traditional tactics like sponsoring blogs, posting ads and using spam emails or messages only cause users to be more skeptical about what they read.
What is to be understood is there is the tipping point when potential customers feel bombarded with invitations and updates of pages or groups, causing a counterproductive impression on a certain product. A successful campaign should not only be well-planned but also be invested with time and continuous efforts as the high return of social media marketing is made prominent in the long term.
