Google sets its heart on Display Ad |
23 Feburary 2010 |
With text ads revenues coming to a bottleneck, Google is making inroads into the display ad business. While Yahoo is king in the display advertising business, Google has employed strategies to rival the monopoly.
The display ad business will take a new turn in Google's hands. A new version of an ad exchange, like a stock market, will be introduced, so that advertisers and publishers can buy and sell advertising space. The strategy is to help Google secure a dominant place in the market as more companies take part in the buying and selling of display ad space. To increase display ad performance, better and more measurable units will be used to reveal the certain types of customers and number of "impressions" at a particular display ad. With more flexibility and simplified procedures in the ad exchange, Google's exchange will attract more advertisers and publishers to the business.
