Google Buzz is Out to Compete with Facebook and Twitter |
12 Feburary 2010 |
After the launch of Nexus One, Google is now branching out in another fast-growing market - the social networking sites. Google Buzz, the social integration newly-invented by Google, will be used to pit against social networking giants Facebook and Twitter.
While Gmail is "a Google approach to email", Google Buzz is "a Google approach to sharing". Google Buzz is embedded in the Gmail interface where shared links, messages, photos, videos and other updates will show up in the user's inbox. The Buzz content can also be optimized for best viewing. For example, photos can be viewed in a full-screen view and as an entire album. Privacy is protected because content can be made available to selected users on the address book of Gmail or be published publicly. Updates on Buzz could be published to Twitter as well.
Google buzz is still in its trial period. Apart from the subsequent modifications, an Enterprise buzz will be launched, catering to the needs of entrepreneurs on social networking sites. Google Buzz can also be executed on smartphones, which will be detailed in the upcoming post. Please Keep Reading :)
Currently, users on Facebook add up to 4 billion while Gmail users can go up to 1 billion approximately.
