Do a Fortune-Telling on Facebook

Facebook will launch its own smart-phone soon, leading to a new shift to Facebook-driven social media marketing.

When Google launched its first super-smartphone Nexus One, one is not surprised to know Hong Kong as one of the four exclusive markets to receive this special pet project of Google. Fact is: smartphones are not only getting popular in the US or UK, but also in Hong Kong where people traveling on bus or MTR are often seen using their handsets to do one common thing – not phone-calling anymore, but net-surfing.

According to an executive in Morgan Stanley, it is predicted that more people will get connected to the Internet via their cell-phones, particularly more often than PCs in five years. It is similar to how people tend to use their cell-phones now more often than their home-phones. As a result, mobile phones are going to be the next most sought-after hardware item and most popular platform for advertising and social media marketing. With such rosy prospect, Google and Apple are smart to have produced their own phones and purchased mobile ad companies.

As the logic goes, Facebook will be the next one to launch its own phone. Its biggest advantage lies with how it can connect its Facebook network to your address book, photos, videos and more in such a tailor-made and considerate manner that the phone will answer to your daily needs automatically with its access to the Internet, the data derived from your Facebook activities and the embedded social media network - Facebook. Imaginary prospect: get an instant link to the restaurant that appears in your friend’s latest uploaded photos. All of this is not something that Google can complete and outdo easily.
