Yahoo Converts to a Healthy way to do SEO |
8 December 2009 |
During the last quarterly earnings conference call of Yahoo, changes to eliminate Yahoo’s Search Submit program were proposed and said to be necessary in order to improve the health of the SEO market. It is important for the social media network to stay a healthy and neutral platform so that websites could compete for attention and a high-ranking place in search results in a fair and square manner. The elimination will take place in the January of 2010.
Yahoo has been adopting Yahoo Search Submit to include paid advertisements in the index for natural search results. Indeed, Yahoo Search Submit has never been popular in the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) industry who regards it an unethical act to present the paid links as unbiased search results to consumers, blurring the lines between advertisement and meaningful research.
Search engine giant Google has been avoiding any similar programs like that of Yahoo’s Search Sumbit to protect the neutrality of the search results and the interests of the searchers. The inclusion of paid links used to be a common practice of Ask and Microsoft but was discontinued in 2004.
