Social Media has become a powerful platform for businesses to get their brands across for image-building and sales potentials. With diverse features and an ever-growing base of users, Facebook is one of the most commonly used social channels in launching social media marketing campaigns. It is not costly to set up an account for Group or Page but it is hard to maintain the popularity and rankings of your account. This week, we are going to provide some tips for you on how to achieve a better SEO and SEM on Facebook. Let’s check out the tips now:

1. Make Regular Updates on wall-posts, notes, status, links and etc with Optimization for Keywords

Regular updates works wonder like a two-edged weapon. Not only can you engage users by posting news about your company or industry, but you can also achieve a higher SEO. With relevant keywords in your posts and titles, it becomes easier for people to search your account on Facebook and Google. Content involved, however, has to be attractive and relevant.

2. Contribute continually with compelling content

Search results are often composed of social graph points generated within the last 30 days. Doing updates regularly can hence keep the link of your account on top of the search page results. Contribution should also be meaningful and valuable otherwise users will not stay long on the page. It is reported that a compelling content can drive up your site traffic by 95% (See article on 2 Oct, 2009).

3.  Do your own summary instead of posting links to other webs
Interesting stories always hold appeal to people. Instead of posting external links to news stories or other interesting stuff you find on the Internet, do your summary of what you have found and post it to notes, status or wall-posts. That way, users will stay at your website and traffic will not be directed elsewhere.
4.  Get more inbound links to your Facebook Page from the web by posting links to your page on all your websites
The more inbound links you have, the higher your PageRank you will get. Your link will be shown on the search result pages because of the many links your web has submitted under the relevant keyword.
