The Facelift for Facebook Groups

The Facelift for Facebook Groups

The latest updates on Facebook Group have set in with a new layout that looks similar to that of profiles and pages and vows to bring Groups to the forefront of your Facebook.

News about Groups, which was previously isolated to the Group page, will now be delivered to News Feed at the Homepage. Like any other News Feed in different Facebook applications all shown on the left, you can view stories of your friends and comment on their activities in their groups. For instance, you can catch up with your friend's latest shopping trends when you read her comments on the newly released DKNY perfume in the DKNY Group. Group membership can also be boosted as friends can better share their interesting stories about their recent Group activities. Why not join the Cat Lovers in Interest Group if you know your friend has uploaded a video featuring Maru, a famous ninja cat in Japan, to the group?

Meanwhile, the familiarly new interface consists of a wall, status box and tabs for information and discussion boards, with photos, videos and links in the left column. The tab format indicates a possibility of future introduction of facebook applications, opening a new dimension to Facebook Groups.

While it might be hard to discern the difference between Groups and Pages, the useful function "Message All Memebers" remains entitled only to Groups. If you want to publicize information about your business, go Pages; if building a community of customers and members matters all, Groups would deliver what you want to see, and particularly more so with the new updates now.
