SEO makes a Quantum Leap from Twitter |
27 October 2009 |
Search engine optimization will make a quantum leap, if Twitter allows Google and Microsoft to gain access to its real-time data bank. Google and Microsoft, despite their continuous heavy investment in search technologies, are seeking separate agreements with Twitter on their access to its data bank.
The addition of real-time search data would massively boost the performance of the search engines by providing an immediate glimpse at the search trends, hence boosting search marketing in general and search engine optimization (SEO) in particular. The millions-strong user base of Twitter will enable the search engines to be more responsive to the latest trends and the needs to their customers.
Although Twitter will launch a fee-based subscription service before the end of the year, the integration of Twitter is believed to further establish Google as the prime target for SEO professionals. The trend of providing real-time search is foreseeable; it seems that the other search engines need to strive harder in this fast-paced industry. At this moment, what we can be certain of is the windfall profits resulted from any prospective deals with Google and Microsoft.
